“ This place was such a hidden gem. Service was top notch. One of the ladies even came over to our table before we left and gave us extra chicken and hamburger steak for the road! Definitely cured my hangry attitude! If we are ever back in the area, we will be sure to put this on our map. ”
“ We were traveling on 65 and stopped at a playground to let our kiddo stretch his legs. We googled up food options nearby. KSV came up and I'm so glad it did. The building is not fancy by any means, just a little brick building between a church and a school off Highway 11 (I think). The inside is small with a few booths around the edge and tables in between. The food and the people were what made this place. We were pretty clearly not from the area and were greeted warmly and the plate options were explained to us kindly. I got hamburger steak, yams (I called them sweet potatoes), green beans, Mac n cheese and cornbread. My husband and son shared baked chicken, butter beans, and Mac n cheese and cornbread. Our kiddo is in the 'I only eat Mac n cheese if it comes in a blue box' phase, but he thought this was a delicious alternative. All of my food was delicious and my husband thought the same of his plate. Icing on top? Our lovely server refilled our drinks and packed us a HUGE plate of food to go. We happily shared it later that night at our hotel further on up the road. We will definitely be making this stop again on future trips. The meal was wonderful. ”
“ The food is good down home soul food that is served with a smile and respect. You can expect to receive wholesome food that is seasoned to please your taste buds. The building is an older one but is clean and well taken care of. On Sunday after service this is a good place to go and get your fill of good food and service. ”
“ I bought me and my granny supper tonight we had the baked chicken withk ac and cheese everything was delicious and home made well definitely come back Again ”
“ Best soul food/ meat-and-three joint in Tuscaloosa, by far! Though I preferred the charm of the old downtown KSV and its successor on the West End (which shared space with The Orchid nightclub), KSV2 on McFarland near the interstate has the same great food. It does not disappoint. ”
